The French design house started in Children’s shoes in 1945 as one of the first designers in the Children’s shoe industry. The company progressed into Women’s ready-to-wear in the early ‘60s with the motto that fashion is for everyone and the goal of bringing it to the social class along with their elite counterparts. By 2004 Michael Kors was tasked with designing their womenswear including soft lines and a modern femininity. That, mixed with the minimalism that came from Phoebe Philo’s first collection for Celine in 2010, put the design house on the map for popularity among any kind of woman and success that continues today.
